Subject: [medsbio-l] [SPAM] ASSP No luck on NSF funding
Dear Colleagues,
I am sorry to say that we got shot down on the RCN-MEDSBIO funding:
If we "prioritize [our] request to emphasize student or underrepresented
groups that might otherwise be unable to attend, that would greatly
improve [our] chances for" a modest workshop request. We will still
have a workshop at BNL on 22 May 2008 using DOE funding. Without the
NSF funding, travel funds will be tight. If there is strong support
for the
idea of requesting a little bit of NSF funding to bring more people to
BNL in May or to do something in conjunction either with the ACA meeting
or the IUCr meeting, I will put in the modest request to the NSF that
they seem willing to fund. Please email your thoughts either to this
list or to me (yaya at bernstein-plus-sons.com), but the paperwork would
have to be done in the next week or so.
Regards,
Herbert
