Advanced Light Source in Berkeley
Postdoc Position

Position Summary:
Berkeley Lab's Advanced Light Source Division has an opening for a Scattering and Tomography Postdoctoral Scholar position. You will be engaged in the development and application of machine learning for scattering and tomography. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of collaborative research. The successful candidate will be developing machine learning algorithms in collaboration with the X-ray micro-tomography and X-ray scattering group and implement the algorithm at beamlines.

What You Will Do:
* Development of machine learning algorithms for scattering and tomography.
* Strong interest in computing and algorithm development.
* Work in a diverse team of scientist.
*             Interact with beamline staff.

What is Required:
* Ph.D. in physics, material science or related field.
*             Excellent software development skills.
* Knowledge of tensoflow or related software.
*             Multi CPU/GPU programming experience.
* Demonstrate experience in developing algorithms for either X-ray tomography or X-ray scattering
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
* Background in either X-ray scattering or Tomography theory.
