Inquiries are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work on
structural studies of membrane and membrane components in solution,
using neutron, NMR and computer simulation. This post is a fixed-term
position of three years. This multi-technique based project is suitable
for an enthusiastic researcher interested in applying neutronic and
computer simulation techniques to understand how membranes and their
protein and lipid components interact give rise to their life-giving
functions.

The successful applicant to this post will be based in the Department of
Biochemistry at the University of Oxford and will work under the
supervision of Dr. Sylvia McLain. He or she will also work with Dr.
Chris Lorenz (King's College London) as well performing experiments at
the ISIS Facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (Didcot, UK).

Applicants should possess a doctorate in physics, chemistry or related
field. Previous experience in neutron scattering, particularly in
diffraction techniques, or computer simulations will be an advantage.
Applicants should ideally but not necessarily have 1 to 2 years of
postdoctoral experience. Informal inquires with CV are welcome and
should be directed to Dr. Sylvia McLain.
