Several imgCIF dictionary changes were requested at the recent workshop
at BNL:

# New tags are needed to handle sparse pixel data, such as masks and
replacement values for overloaded pixels, e.g. tags to allow an
image to be presented as a list, rather than as an array.
# New tags are needed to report monitor values and other scan
dependent overall image data.
# Tags are needed for versioning.

Draft proposals on each of these items have been prepared. The
sparse pixel data proposal in the form of a new "background-
offset-delta (BOD)" compression was posted to this list recently.

A new proposal for reporting monitor values and the proposal for
versioning put forward in 2007 have been incorporated in new
proposed DIFFRN_SCAN_FRAME_MONITOR and VARIANT
categories in a draft imgCIF dictionary:

Comments, corrections and suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,
   Herbert
